HHFD Welcomes Two New Vehicles

On August 1st, the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department took possession of two new vehicles, one of which is a 2024 Ford Expedition that will serve as the mobile command vehicle for our Chiefs. This Expedition supports the management of incidents and planned events by providing interior and exterior workspaces and command and control capabilities to the incident commander at remote locations. It's equipped with radios that can communicate with multiple municipal, county, and state agencies.

The second vehicle is a well-maintained 1994 Pierce Engine that will serve as a reserve engine. It will be stocked with equipment at all times should the situation arise where one of the front-line trucks needs repairs. In that case, the Fire Department is now equipped with a unit that can be placed in service immediately to ensure fire protection is maintained. In the past, if a truck was out of service, the department had to rely on a neighboring town for assistance.

Mayor Ron Kistner stated, "The main goal of this Mayor and Council is ensuring the safety of our residents. To do this, we must ensure our fire department's hard-working men and women have all the tools they need."

Chief Rob Knobloch commented, "I want to thank the mayor and council for supporting our department. While these vehicles are essential, the most important resource we need is volunteers to crew these vehicles. If you want to give back to our great town, the volunteer Fire Department is a great avenue! Contact us at 201-288-0082."
